MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS FOR THE 1988-89 SEASON ARE NOW DUE AND PAYABLE. Our new season, the twenty-first for T.M.H.S., begins in October, and we sincerely hope that all of our loyal members will renew for the coming year. Despite rising costs, including postal rate increases, we have been able to hold fees at $15.00 per annum. We would like to avoid the cost of having to mail out individual billings, and so your early remittance will be greatly appreciated. Some of our members have already sent their renewals. Won't you please join them? Kindly forward payment to our Chief Purser, William R. Wilson, 173 Glenrose Avenue, Toronto, Ontario M4T 1K7. Thank you.

We thank our members for being patient in waiting for the Mid-Summer issue while Ye Ed. enjoyed a much-appreciated vacation from the typewriter. We have, however, accumulated a large amount of marine news during the summer, and we apologize if items appear unduly abbreviated to save space, or if we have missed any items completely.

In the New Member Department, a hearty welcome goes out to Capt. Tom Garvey of Ashtabula, to Doug Foote of Rochester, to John E. Bedard of Welland, to Capt. Eric George of Burlington, and to John D. Kinnear of Port Colborne.
