- 3 NEW ERA, quickly made herself popular by her fast
- 4 unnecessary. Consequently, the PASSPORT and the NEW ERA were withdrawn and the COMET was maintained on
- 5 would start the service with the PASSPORT, the NEW ERA and the COMET and a new vessel HIGHLANDER (ii)
- 6 the PASSPORT, Capt. Bowen and Purser Putnam; the NEW ERA, Capt. Maxwell and Purser Farrell and the COMET,
- 7 Canal at 11:11, stopping a short time while the NEW ERA was passing through. She passed Bronte at 11:43,

- 10 railway wharf. The Royal Mail steamers PASSPORT, NEW ERA and others made their regular daily calls, along
- 11 the 9 October, the steamer NEW ERA, having broken her shaft, was being towed up the
- 12 Capt. Harbottle, KINGSTON, Capt. Kelly, NEW ERA, Capt. Chrysler, CHAMPION, Capt. Sinclair and
- 13 the Inland Nav. Co. was $200,000. The steamers NEW ERA, MAGNET and BANSHEE were to be included in the
- 14 a.m. on the 25 July, when the PASSPORT and the EMPRESS collided at the False Ducks. The EMPRESS,
- 15 Kingston News, on the 28 July stated that: "The EMPRESS has been placed on the Marine Railway. Her stem
- 16 EMPRESS was again in trouble a month later. She was
- 17 PASSPORT, CHAMPION, MAGNET, BANSHEE and NEW ERA.
- 18 Line listed the KINGSTON, Capt. Clark Hamilton, EMPRESS, Capt. Andrew Dunlop, PASSPORT, Capt. Thos.
- 19 steamer EMPRESS was being offered for sale or charter and rumour
- 20 and a much longer cruise was offered by the EMPRESS, Capt. P. G. Chrysler, from Hamilton with calls at
- 21 steamers EMPRESS and BANSHEE had an altercation between the Ducks
- 22 steamer EMPRESS was sold out of the Royal Mail Line in March and
- 23 1858 when her boiler exploded while towing the NEW ERA up the Rapide Plat and during the seasons of 1866
