- 5 Ontario steamboats. It was surmised that the ARABIAN, MAPLE LEAF, ST. LAWRENCE, LORD ELGIN and possibly
- 6 would consist of the MAGNET, Capt. Twohy; the ARABIAN, Capt. Colcleugh and the PASSPORT, Capt.
- 7 general cargo for Holcomb & Henderson and the ARABIAN, Capt. Colcleugh from Kingston with passengers and
- 8 was to consist of the MAGNET, Capt. Twohy, ARABIAN, Capt. Sclater, PASSPORT, Capt. Harbottle and the
- 9 time a mate on the BOSTON and 1st Mate on the ARABIAN, under Capt. Colcleugh. Capt. John's first command
- 10 announced that his new vessel would be named ARABIAN and that Capt. Chestnut, late of the CANADA,
- 11 Robertson's Shipyard to inspect the steamer ARABIAN, being built for Capt. Fairgrieve. The visitors

- 16 ARABIAN was again in trouble when, on her way down the
- 17 Myles, the propeller OCEAN from Montreal and the ARABIAN, on a voyage from Montreal to Fort William. The
- 18 was busy on 16 August when the CARLO and the ARABIAN arrived with ore
- 19 7 November and Capt. Fairgrieve's steamer ARABIAN was driven ashore 8 miles west of Whitefish Point
- 20 OCEAN was being fitted out in Toronto, while the ARABIAN was in Hamilton and was expected to sail within a
- 21 MAGNET which both cleared for Montreal and the ARABIAN loading general cargo for the Upper Lakes. The
- 22 vessels were in port as of the 1 December. The ARABIAN, Capt. Patenaude, reached Toronto on 30 November
- 23 ARABIAN was detained at Duluth by legal negotiations
- 24 on the 11 December with the arrival of the ARABIAN, Capt. Oliver Patenaude. The season had opened on
- 25 and Chief Engineer A. Ramsay. Capt. Fairgrieve's ARABIAN was resplendent in fresh paint. Capt. O.
- 26 advanced the Welland Canal to 28 April. The ARABIAN cleared on 25 April for Port Dalhousie where she
- 27 T. R. MERRITT in tow. The LAKE MICHIGAN and the ARABIAN took their last grain cargoes to Kingston and
- 28 steamers ARABIAN and HAMILTON were in port on 13 September and the
- 29 to Duluth, while the SIR S. L. TILLEY and the ARABIAN would be in service between Prescott and Duluth.
- 30 and the propeller MYLES left for Toledo. The ARABIAN sailed on the 25 April, with general cargo for
- 31 the propellers CUBA, MELBOURNE, PERSIA, OCEAN, ARABIAN, LAKE MICHIGAN and SIR S. L. TILLEY. Of these, the
- 32 schooner W.J.SUFFELL arrived from Oswego, the ARABIAN called in on her way to Ft. William, and the LAKE
- 33 to Hamilton to lay-up for the winter. The ARABIAN came in from Kingston and departed for Fort
- 34 Oliver Patenaude brought the ARABIAN in on the night of 7 December to lay up, having
