John Vournakis of the Michigan Soo has asked us about the tug MANICOUAGAN, (a) FEDERAL BEAVER, which was operated at Port Cartier by the Quebec Cartier Mining Company. She had been built in 1962 at Owen Sound, an 87-footer. In 1973 her place was taken by the new tugs BROCHU and VACHON and MANICOUAGAN was sold to the Northland Navigation Company Ltd. of Vancouver who took her to the west coast and in 1974 renamed her (c) OCEAN PRINCE II.
