Our November meeting featured member Hal Jackson who shared with us some of his excellent photos of Great Lakes tugs in action and his experiences aboard them. Those present thoroughly enjoyed Hal's talk and we look forward to having him back again soon.

It is not too early to mention that our Annual Dinner Meeting will be held on Friday, April 4. The speaker will be Mr. John O. Greenwood who will present an illustrated talk on the delivery voyage to the lakes of CLIFFS VICTORY, a voyage made via the Mississippi River and the Illinois Waterway. He will also touch on the present state of the Great Lakes shipping industry and this will, no doubt, lead to an interesting discussion period. Details of price and location will be announced soon, but meanwhile please make plans to attend. We especially welcome out-of-town members.

In the New Member Department, a hearty welcome goes out to Allan S. Cooper of Toronto; to Robert Henkel of Harsens Island, Michigan, and to Capt. G. V. Chamberlain of Sandusky, Ohio, Master of the steamer ERNEST T. WEIR.

And now, as the cold lake smokes and the ice forms on the backwaters, and as the steamers begin to head to their winter quarters, we send out to each and every member our very best wishes for the merriest of Christmases and for the happiest of New Years.
